The vessel service will be launched in the state from next Monday. Transport Minister Firhad Hakim said the decision was taken to facilitate the movement of common people. He said on Thursday that the number of buses would be increased and vessels would be launched considering the problems of passengers.
Local trains are closed in the state to prevent corona infection. Vessel service in the Ganges has been closed since before that. On the other side, even if the bus runs, it is much less in number. As a result, the commuters are facing problems every day. The transport minister said the decision was taken to launch a vessel service to alleviate the situation.
On Thursday, Firhad said, "Commuters are facing problems as they are not getting buses. We are increasing the number of buses to solve that problem. At the same time, it has been directed to start vessel service from Monday.
At present, there are 36 vessel routes in the state. The number of passengers on these routes is not less. Especially during office hours. At that time many people relied on vessels for travel. As a result, the launch of the vessels at this time is expected to facilitate travel.
